(UVG0002) C. F. Martin D-28 (Clyde Moody)(UVG0002)C. F. Martin D-28 (Clyde Moody)
Previously owned by Clyde Moody. His name
appears in large mother of pearl on the
finger board and has the signature Pick Guard.
made in 1973 and has East Indian Rosewood back and sides and the spruce on the top appears to have a really "Tight Grain" I am sure it was select wood used for this guitar. As seen in the pictures Clyde Moody in Huge Block letters on the neck inlay. It has a real GREAT sound and very nice tone even with dead strings on it.
The only issues I see on this guitar is that weather checking is in the clear coat on the guitars top and sides. The back has three small weather checking cracks at the bottom of the back.
The pick Guard is coming up and in one spot on the top there appears to be what might be the start of a crack. It is hard to tell if it is a clear coat crack or it is in the wood. I looked at the underside of the top and if it is a crack in the wood it does not show on this side.
The neck has the correct bow in place for proper action and playability.
The only thing that needs to be done at this time is to repair the pickguard that has come up.
A fine instrument to add to any ones C. F. Martin collection!
